Go Green Smoothie

I love to start my day off with a healthy and delicious smoothie. This “go green” smoothie is a perfect dose of vitamins and minerals to keep you going throughout the day. By adding apples, spinach, and parsley to your diet you can be greatly improving your health.


1 apple: preferably green

1 cup of spinach

1/2 cup of mint leaves

1/2 cup of parsley

1 kiwi

ice and water for the base


Cut the apple and kiwi into small pieces and place together with parsley, mint, and spinach into the smoothie container.

Fill in with ice and water.  Mix or blend and enjoy!

You can serve the smoothie as green shots if you are hosting a party or get together.

Apples are high in fiber and vitamin C, and they are also low in calories, they have only a trace of sodium, and no fat or cholesterol. “Apples are high in polyphenols, which function as antioxidants.

Spinach is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A (in the form of carotenoids), manganese, folate, magnesium, iron, copper, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin E, calcium, potassium and vitamin C. It is a very good source of dietary fiber, phosphorus, vitamin B1, zinc, protein and choline.

Parsley leaves are a good source of protein, Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus and Zinc, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper and Manganese.
