This past Easter Sunday my neighbor invited me to a fun water activity: canoeing at the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park. This was my first time ever going on a river and canoeing. I was hesitant at first but once we settled in the canoe and I started listening to the nature around me all my fears began to disappear. The weather was perfect with a springtime temperature and a light breeze. I was able to spend quality time with my friend and enjoy the natural settings. My stress levels went down to zero, I had tons of fun, and I was able to relax a little.
There was plenty of wild life around, especially many of the different kinds of turtles and this one was a big and old turtle that was not afraid of us.
There was also people nearby fishing and enjoying the river as well.
Some were jogging or walking and others were canoeing and kayaking.
You can rent a canoe at the local shop, its very cheap and safe even for first timers like myself.
The beautiful park and bridges helped me to relax and take my mind off the stress.
I highly recommend this amazing trip to anyone who looking to have a weekend adventure.
